  Styles of the Past Back!
By Selma Yalazi

Many of today's top stars are recreating styles from wayyyy back! I must admit I am loving it, and am ready to try out some of the looks from the past too! Since we have modern appliances like hairdryers, curling irons, and hot rollers we won't have to slave over our hair like those of yesteryear. But if you would like to keep it kosher then visit this site for how to create the looks with the old fashioned techniques, but if you want to modernize and simplify keep reading!

STEP 1
First scour the web for a photo of the hairstyle that you want to create, keeping in mind the length of your hair and the length in the photograph. I recommend this site, it has excellent pictures from the era's past.

STEP 2
To recreate all of these hair styles, you generally need prepped hair. So, wash hair, towel dry and spread mouse throughout your hair. Dry your hair with a hairdryer to the point where it borders dry & moist, you don't want to get it completely dry but you don't want it dripping wet or even too moist.

Step 3
Set Your Hair in Rollers. Below is the easiest sequence to work with. Keep it in your hair for about 10-15 minutes, remove rollers and separate the curls with your fingers, do not worry so much about the styling now, just separating the curls and spray lightly with a shine enhancer.

Step 4
Now we are ready to style. If your style has a hair part, do that now. The back of your hair should look set, if you are not happy with it, work with it with your curling iron. It could be that it is curling in the wrong direction. It is important to restyle and work with the curls in the front so that they are flattering to your face shape & style you are trying to achieve.
