Get Kissable Lips

So you want Angelina’s beautiful lips right? Well the first thing is to stop ignoring your puckers! Many people put on body lotion and get facials but still succeed in neglecting their lips even though they are one of the most exposed areas of the skin. In the evening after brushing your teeth, take a soft toothbrush diped in petroleum jelly and some sugar and applying a circular motion gently massage your lips with the exfoliator.

Lip Plumping Products Are Temporary: They burn and irritate lips to plump for only a few minutes. Check the ingredients and avoid cheap lip products that use capsicum, niacin, menthol or peppermint. These ingredients cannot build collagen.

Lip care doesn't have to be complicated. Just remember to exfoliate, moisturize, plump and protect and you, too, can have gorgeous, healthy, kissable lips!

When choosing lip color there are many other factors besides the color… Here is a glimpse into the inside of the Lip color world.

Stain: If you want a subtle look, try a lip stain -- it gives you sheer color (picture your lips after eating a Popsicle). You can also layer lip balm over it as often as you wish, so lips never get unkissably dry. Many lip stains also do double duty as a sheer blush, cutting down purse clutter.

Matte: If you want long-lasting color with full coverage, go with a matte lipstick formula. Some matte formulas can be drying, so look for a creamy, semi-matte version. But beware that the creamier the lipstick, the more it rubs off during kissing.

Shimmer: This is perfect for an evening look and can be layered over a darker color to tone it down a notch. It can get a bit sticky, however, if you are anticipating a kiss.

Gloss: This option is great for layering over other lipsticks or wearing just by itself. It's also a great way to make lips look fuller. If you're going to be doing lots of kissing, stick to a clear shade, which adds shine to your lips, but won't show up on him.

Pencil: Problems with feathering? A lip pencil is the best way to keep color from migrating into fine lines. For the most natural look, line lips after applying lipstick and blend if needed with a lip brush. To get longer-lasting, won't-kiss-off color, smooth balm on lips, then fill in all over using a lip pencil. Layer lipstick on top of that if desired.

Now, Pucker Up!

With all the lip plumpers out there that just don't work, Benefit gives you a product that really can give the illusion of bigger lips. Go ahead and cheat with this foundation for the lips. You can go a little out of the lip line, cover with lipstick and there you have it -- plumper looking lips. I would never wear this with only a lip gloss though. I've used up my tube and am now using LipFusion which actually does swell the lips a bit. But if you really want a more dramatic look Benefit fills the bill.

--- NEXT REVIEW ---

I was a little hesitant to try a lip-plumping product, but I've loved all the other Benefit products I've tried, so figured I would try this too. It's a little like putting foundation all over your lips and the instructions have you tapping your lips to get it worked in. The effects are subtle, but nice - although it does sometimes make my lips throb a little a few hours after application. Not something that I use every day, but you certainly could if you wanted to. Works well if you cover with liner/lipstick or just colored gloss.

This is not a product that gives you bigger lips. If you want "pillow lips," look elsewhere. I've tried some "plumping" products that sting and smart and, yes, do puff up your lips for about six hours. They're not for me.

As far as I'm concerned what Perricone's Lip Plumper does is so much better. First, it's totally nourishing helping to soothe and heal, diminishing lip wrinkles and fine lines around the mouth.

It's a balm that even restores your lips' natural healthy color, and tastes great (a little like an orange ade). With use lips do appears fuller (I think because they're softer and no longer wrinkly). But, it doesn't puff them up.

If you want something to make your lips larger for the evening, I'd recommend DuWop Lip Venom. As for me it's Perricone's Lip Plumper all the way.
