Make-Up Summer 2005 Trends Report
Are you thinking about this summer? With the warm weather fast
approaching its not to early thinking about what make-up trends will be
in. What will be the latest colors? Here are a couple ideas.
Color
There was a lot of color on the catwalks of summer 2005 and the same applies
to make-up, particularly to eyes. The traditional 'smoky' eyes will be
replaced by purple and green. There was a widespread use of very dark
make-up that gives great emphasis to eyes, often combined with extremely
pale lips. The novelty for this year is the shape of your eyes. whereas
last year we were all trying to make our eyes look round this year we
will opt for an elongated shape, which creates a cat's eyes look. The
Louis Vuitton show included a lot of traditional cat eye, where the gucci
show painted their models eyes from underneath, which I like to call,
Angel Wings! I have
also seen greens and blues and orange make-up.
The Healthy Look
Everybody loves a healthy look for the summer. But remember that 'healthy'
does not mean 'super-tanned'. dark and intense colors are out of fashion.
In order to create a healthy look, make-up artists choose a medium-dark
shiny base and then they 'heat up' the skin with golden, honey-colored
blushes applied on the cheeks and also on the temples. Shiny cheeks
were seen in the collections of alberta ferretti
and others.
Natural (nude) look
In sharp contrast with the healthy look we also saw the natural nude look,
a 'barely-there' look with a smooth, light, soft and slightly shiny skin.
Use light and glossy colors to give a young and fresh look to your eyes
and lips.
Lips.
Lips should be pale, almost colorless. Use mat
and barely visible lipstick with very pale rose or orange and peach tones.
Pale lips
were on the catwalks of max mara and cavalli. Other designers chose sensual and
bright-colored lips - orangey red for blugirl, orange for miu miu, bright pink for trend
les copains, a very shiny red for paola frani and cherry red for rocco
barocco.
Take a look through the inspiration
gallery paying close attention to the combination of eyes and lips. You'll
also notice the major use of bronzer!
