Make a Blue Beaded Necklace
By Selma Yalazi

Last years chandelier earrings are being replaced by the chunky necklace. Wear a single strand or multiple layers these beaded beauties and you will turn heads. I chose to make my beads the popular color blue worn by MK Olsen and Nikki Hilton but you can make yours any color you want, just grab any kind of spray paint made for indoor / outdoor use. This project cost me a total of about $10.00 and took 2 days to complete.

Materials
Wooden Beads
Spray Paint
6 mm wide Ribbon

Instructions
Step One: Gather all of your materials together. And arrange your wooden beads (found at craft store in the jewelry isle) with the opening at the top. This will also help prevent it from rolling off. Do this in a well ventilated area, because you will be spray painting.

Step Two: Using a swift motion moving left to right, lightly coat the beads with paint. Wait about half and hour and then go over them again, they should have a nice coat on them now. Wait about 5-6 hours for them to completely dry. After they are dry, turn the beads over to the other side and repeat spray paint process. Wait another 5-6 hours before handling them.

Step Three: After all of your beads have completely dried, string them onto a 6 mm wide ribbon leaving approximately 6 inches on the ends. Make a knot closest to the beads so they don't come off. Now, you can tie your necklace in multiple strands as I did, or wear them in a single strand its up to you!
