Sweatshirt
Bolero
By Selma Yalazi
This is easy as pie. Just grab a sweatshirt. I
worked on a sweatshirt type weave that had this funky knit thing attached to
it, and it worked out great. I am happy with the results. I haven't
experimented with a sweater, but that should be coming in future issues of
lumana.

Instructions
Step One: Measure the length of the bolero that you want to create. I do
this by making a snip at the shortness I want to cut it at while I am
wearing it. Then I try it on to make sure it is as short as I want.

Step Two:
Now, fold the sweatshirt in half and cut up the front to make the opening.
Pay careful attention to centering it here because this is the opening of
the bolero.

Step Three:
If you try it on in this stage, it looks like a bolero, but there is
something missing. Right? Well, in the above illustration, there is a red
marking. Again, fold your sweatshirt in half, and taking the two center
opening pieces cute a semi-circle, this will give it a more finished look.
DO NOT do this too all the layers or you will have a funky "w"
looking shape cut out in the back as well. Just do this to the opening
layers, where the bolero opens. Do this to the top opening section too, but not as intense, just a tad to
finish it off. (Need more help with this
stage??)
