Houndstooth:
One of the Hottest Trends for Fall 2005

Named for the broken check pattern that is woven into the
fabric, which is most commonly wool. Houndstooth’s name is
derived from the fact that it resembles like a dog’s tooth. It
is actually a four-pointed star design. This classic fabric
made its way onto the runway in several of the Fall 2005
ready-to-wear shows including Stella McCartney and Louis
Vuitton. No longer just for overcoats and old men’s caps,
houndstooth is back strong and with a modern flair.
