Selma started Lumana in 2004 just as a writing and fashion outlet for herself. In a short amount of time Lumana became a success on its own with international attention and visitors from all around the world. She says that the best part of this whole experience has been the opportunity in working and meeting the nicest most creative people. She likes to play stylist and make-up artist to all her friends in her spare time!

As a writer-cum-translator-cum-student, Anna always has something to do no matter what. Between learning new languages, her trips back home to Finland and the necessary evils, she still manages to find time for what she calls conducting extensive and costly research into textile and leather design and testing the product of various fermented grains and fruit. She probably has the largest private collections of Vogue magazines and MAC make-up in London and loves to use both on acquaintances as well as herself.

Writing and editing her fellow students’ essays in college gave Melissa the extra spending money she needed for designer jeans, a closet full of shoes, and rent for a closet-sized room. Six long years later, she has a bachelor’s degree, a closet full of designer jeans and shoes, and a burning desire to write about what she loves best: fashion. Her aspirations include to work as a fashion editor, to take a tour around Europe, to raise a family, and to find that ever elusive perfect pair of jeans.

Jennifer first fell in love with shoes while trying on her mother’s high heels at age five and soon earned the nickname, Imelda Marcos Jr., due to her extensive and growing shoe collection. After working in the film industry while obtaining a bachelors degree in film, Jennifer recently started working as a design consultant for a furniture design company while she works on writing screenplays. She has been styling her friends and family for years and has recently taken a keen interest in interior design. Jennifer lives in the Los Angeles area with her husband, David, and Chihuahua, Solo.

Olivia has a keen eye for style and fashion and currently is a designer for 'SnowCaps', a winter accessories and clothing company that specializes in alpaca and angora products. She will be attending the Paul Mitchell Hair Academy this fall, and then will go on and get her degree in fashion merchandising. In her spare time, Olivia enjoys photography, jewelry design and hunting down the perfect pair of stilettos.

Sarah is currently a college student. She is studying International Studies with a concentration in Asian Studies. The last five years of her life have been dedicated to studying Japanese, school, politics, and fashion. After always being interested in fashion and trends she fell in love when two new high-end malls opened in her area. It was her first real introduction to fashion. Now, she is known as the “handbag girl.” She absolutely loves Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and Marc Jacobs. In her free time she enjoys photography, writing, and reading. After college she would like to return to Japan to teach Japanese. When that is over, she is considering translating, international law, or working for a business.
